More features: compatible with Alexa; hands-free operation and voice control; can play music and video
If you truly are in the market for the best wireless home intercom system, then this just might be your best bet. Its only true drawback is that it utilizes Wi-Fi for its connective purposes. However, this is a necessary step, since this device functions as much more than just an intercom system within your home.
Since this device connects to your home internet, it puts the internet at your fingertips, or voice rather. This unit can be connected to Alexa, making it an almost completely hands-free device. You can use it to play music or movies, communicate within your home, keep your calendar, or even call your friends on their cell phones. The Echo can also be connected with any number of apps to help make your life a bit easier. While these features don’t come cheaply, they certainly are useful.
This intercom system can be connected to Alexa, so it can also be used with any other Alexa products. You could use it as a baby monitor as well. It could also be used to turn your lights off and on or open your garage door. If you are looking for a better way to manage your household and stay connected with your family, this is a great device to check out.
More features: one-to-one call and group call, voice-operated exchange
The Wuloo WL666-4 Stations Intercom System aims to offer up to a mile in transmission distance while maintaining crisp sound quality. It also has some interesting features including a VOX (voice activation) mode for handsfree transmitting. However, you will need to have the unit in front of you, as VOX is not possible at a great distance. There is also a channel switch that you can use in the event that one of your neighbors has the same unit, with 10 available channels and three digital codes to create a secure wireless home system with enhanced anti interference.
Despite these impressive features, this system is quite easy to use. There are features such as Monitor, Talk, Calling and Group functions with the option to increase or lower the volume. This system is easier to use compared to many other systems. The system is supplied with a detailed manual that provides step by step instructions to configure it to suit your home and get the most out of the multi functions. It is even supported by Power Bank for even greater flexibility. You can mount the intercoms anywhere you like with a back hole for wall mounting and full instructions on how to do this in the manual.
More features: 1/2-mile range, one-to-one or one-to-all communication
If you don’t need a video intercom, but still want outstanding range and portability, then this might be the right setup for your needs. These monitors have one of the largest ranges on the market and are extremely portable. This makes them great to use as an audio baby monitor for when you want to keep an eye (ear) on your baby but still get work done outside of your house. This system has a range of up to ½ a mile without obstructions, making them a great choice for when you are outside.
Their portability also has lots to do with their outstanding battery life. Each device comes with a rechargeable battery that can also be run off of wall power. Since these devices also use USB ports to charge, they could also be run off of a power bank when you are on the go on the outside of your home. That way, you can still keep in close contact with anyone in your house while you get your outdoor chores finished up.
This intercom system can also be expanded so that you have as many devices as you need. While it only features seven different channels, this should be more than enough for a household. You also have the option of speaking with one unit or communicating with every unit at the same time. This would make whole family announcements quick and easy.
More features: clear LCD display, powered by a usb cable
The Sanzuco Wireless Income system is designed to be very simple and easy to use. It uses the latest technology to provide crystal clear sound while ensuring secure communications. You should not experience any interference with stable, clear communications. You can simply call a number for basic communication or press Group to deliver a message or notice to all units at the same time. This makes it effective for home or office use with a communication distance of up to 1000 feet, eliminating the need for yelling across departments or frustrations if you’re working in your garage or studio and someone inside the house needs to speak to you.
One standout feature of this system is the large LCD display. This provides a clear screen that enables you to manage the functions. Additionally, since the system is powered with a USB cable for easy connection to a power bank, you don’t need to worry about batteries, battery charging or phone wires on your wall. This system is also suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so you can use the system as and where you need it.
The kit includes four full intercoms, four wall chargers and four USB cables, but if you’re not 100% happy with the system, Sanzuco has a satisfaction guarantee.
More features: 7-inch TFT display, waterproof cover, built-in infrared sensor, 1080P camera, supports IOS/Android system smartphone and tablet
The TMEZON wireless doorbell intercom system features the latest IP technology so when a visitor presses your doorbell, you’ll receive an APP TUYA notification on your phone. This will allow you to see, hear and speak to the person at your door. You can even remote unlock if necessary. You can connect up to two doorbells with four indoor monitors. This allows dual way communication between the indoor monitors and outdoor camera. You can transfer calls among the monitors, so you don’t even need to go downstairs to open the front door. You can also configure the system for automatic recording or snapshot. When the doorbell is pressed or the motion detection is triggered, the camera will automatically start video recording or take a snapshot, saving the data to a Micro SD card. This provides excellent playback capabilities in case of a security issue.
The system features a 7 inch TFT slim line display with touch key operation and hands free. It supports WiFi or you can connect via the RJ45 port. The doorbell itself has a waterproof cover, 1080P camera with 115º wide angle view, built in infrared sensor and night vision. It can all connect to the electronic lock.
The design of this system allows you to monitor your home security wherever you are. You can not only check in with visitors, but you have the reassurance that if you forgot your key when you left or suspect you forgot to lock the door behind you, you can use your phone. It is also convenient for those with mobility issues who may struggle to get to the door quickly or are wary about opening up for strangers. The system allows you to verify who is ringing your doorbell without even needing to get out of your chair, for enhanced safety and protection.
More features: sound-activated LEDs, night vision, scan mode, talk-back function, interchangeable lens system, room temperature sensor
While this system is designed to be used as a baby monitor, it would also make for a pretty good intercom or security system. It is motion activated, which will let you know if someone is moving through an area or if a baby has just woken up. It can also be used in pitch black, since it has a night vision camera.
It is also built to be nice and secure. Since this system does not rely on home Wi-Fi for its connectivity, it will not allow anyone to hack into it. That way, you know that the only people using it to communicate are people in your family. Also, unlike lots of other baby monitors out there, this one has a communication feature which allows you to speak through the camera. In that way, it can certainly be used as a home intercom system. Of course, since it only has one channel, you will be limited to communicating with that one room.
Unlike lots of other video intercom systems, this one can be remotely adjusted so that you can get a better view. You also have the option of switching out the camera lens on this system to get a wider view of a given area. This makes it an ideal choice for a large room. It should not be used outdoors, however, as the camera is not water and weatherproof.
In this section, we will cover everything that you need to know to find the best wireless home intercom system. There are several things that you need to take into account before you make your final purchase, but first, let’s review what a wireless intercom system actually is and does.
To put it as simply as possible, a wireless home intercom system is a series of devices that allow a group of people to communicate with each other throughout the house without having to be near each other. These systems can either connect to each other through a home Wi-Fi system or a more secure encrypted channel.
Now, that you know what is the wireless intercom system, it’s time to make clear how you can use it and what to look for before buying your very best.
There are two different choices that you can pick from when it comes to wireless home intercoms. The type that you choose depends solely on your personal preference and how you intend to utilize your system. You can either choose from an audio-only system or one that features video as well.
Audio – Audio systems will only allow you to talk to each other. These work great for communicating with all of your family members quickly and easily, but they would not be a good choice if you want to use your intercom as a security system.
Video – Video monitors provide you with the same functions as an audio monitor, with the bonus of being able to see who you are talking to, or who is at your front door. These make them ideal for use as a monitoring system. The only drawback is that they tend to be more expensive than audio-only models.
While these devices are wireless in how they connect to each other, they still need to be powered in some manner. All of the systems on the market operate with a plug-in option. This will help to keep them online for most of the time.
If, however, for whatever reason your home loses power, it might also be a good idea to look for a system that features a battery backup. That way, you will still be able to use it, at least for a little while even though you are without power in your home. This would be an essential feature for a security system or baby monitor.
When it comes to how your intercom system will connect with each other, you have two basic choices. You can either choose a system that connects with your home Wi-Fi or one that will only connect to other intercom devices. Both of these options have their own advantages and disadvantages, but the secure connections are usually the way to go.
This type of connection is super easy to set up. All you need to do is place the devices that you wish to connect within the appropriate range, click them on the same channel, and voila, you are ready to roll. Of course, the main reason that intercoms with secure connections are preferable to ones that use Wi-Fi is because of their secure nature.
The last thing that you want to have happen, especially if you are using a baby monitor, is to have someone hack into your intercom system. If that happens, they can speak through the system or, worse yet, utilize the video feature to see into your home.
You can get intercom systems that only use a small number of channels or units that have up to 20 different secure channels. The idea behind these different channels is that they allow you to have a private conversation with one, or a few people, in your home without anyone being able to listen in.
The availability of multiple secure channels also helps to make the intercom system more secure. By using a different channel every once in a while, you reduce the risk of anyone being able to listen in from outside of your home.
Depending on the size of your home, you will want to pay close attention to the connection distance of the intercom devices. This distance will dictate how many units you will need to use your system effectively.
You also need to take the building materials used in the construction of your home into account when you are making your purchase. If you have a newer home, the distances that the manufacturer gives on the units will be pretty accurate, since modern homes have relatively thin walls. If, however, you have an older home made of brick or plaster, you might not get quite the distance you’d expect, which means you will need to buy more units.
While it might seem like a straightforward idea, not all of the wireless intercom systems can be expanded upon. Make sure that you read the labels and system details carefully before you make your final purchase. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get your intercoms to reach to every corner of your household as you would hope.
Since this intercom is going to be used in a home setting, you want to be sure that you select one that allows you to connect between one system or multiple systems at a time. This will allow you to have private discussions or make family announcements.
There are plenty of different options out there when you are looking for the best wireless home intercom system. Overall, the best device that we found has to be the Echo Show. It not only allows you to seamlessly communicate with others in your home, but it can also be connected with Alexa. This makes it ideal for playing music, watching videos, or controlling other smart devices.
Or perhaps you are simply looking for an audio intercom system. In that case, you could choose the Hosmart 1500FT 7-Channel Wireless Intercom System. It has a gigantic range, making it ideal for use in large homes. It is also incredibly portable, making it a great choice for use when you are out and about in your yard or garage. It has an outstanding battery and can be quickly recharged.
This wireless intercom system has numerous channels, so in the event that your neighbor has the same system or particular channels are not as clear and crisp, you have the option to swap to another channel. This in combination with the impressive feature set makes the Wuloo WL666 worthy of serious consideration.
I have an adult son who is physically handicapped. We spend our lives yelling back and forth from opposite ends of the house. We have to find another way to communicate when not in the same room and this sounds like the answer. It is just the 2 of us and we need to be able to communicate from his room and bathroom to 3 other rooms in the house. It also has to be voice-activated. I don’t work in the yard these days, but if for some reason I have to be outside for a while, it would be nice to be able to carry one of them outside with me. The unit also has to be able to pick up his voice from several feet if necessary. Or find a way to keep one in his bathroom.
Hello Sheron, thank you for your comment! I think, something like the Echo Show would be perfect for your situation if you have WiFi around your home. Glad you found the article helpful!
